Photo Shoot Terms & Conditions
PJL PHOTOGRAPHY – PET PORTRAIT AGREEMENT
This agreement is between the client and Philip Lord, trading as PJL Photography.
1. PAYMENT
• The appointment fee must be paid at the time of booking, minus any deposit already paid, unless the session is part of a promotional or prize-based offer.
• The appointment fee is non-refundable, though deposits may be transferred if rescheduled, subject to availability.
2. BOOKINGS
• Sessions are booked online via the photographer’s booking system unless otherwise agreed. • All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by PJL Photography.
3. SESSION LOCATION
• Photoshoots typically take place in and around Lancaster, including Williamson Park. • Requests for alternative locations may be accommodated by agreement and may be subject to an additional time and travel surcharge.
4. TRAVEL & ADDITIONAL COSTS
• Any travel beyond the photographer’s usual working area will be discussed and agreed at the time of booking. • Where applicable, additional time and travel costs may apply and will be confirmed prior to the session.
5. PUNCTUALITY
• If you arrive more than 30 minutes late without contacting PJL Photography, your session may be cancelled and the fee will still apply.
6. UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
• PJL Photography is not responsible for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to adverse weather, illness, equipment failure, power outages, or government restrictions.
7. DELIVERY & GALLERIES
• Image viewing takes place via a secure private online gallery. • Online galleries are made available for a limited period (typically 7 days) to view and purchase products. • Images must be purchased before the gallery closes. Galleries may not be reopened once expired unless agreed in writing. • Prints and products are sent via Royal Mail or a nominated courier. PJL Photography is not responsible for delays or losses caused by postal services.
8. IMAGE USE & COPYRIGHT
• PJL Photography retains full copyright of all images. • Gallery images are provided for viewing and selection purposes only. • Gallery images are displayed with watermarking and must not be screenshot, saved, copied, downloaded, or otherwise reproduced in any form prior to purchase. • The use of watermark-removal tools or similar software is strictly prohibited. • Clients receive non-commercial personal use rights for purchased images only. • Purchased images are supplied fully edited, high-resolution, and without watermarks. • PJL Photography may use selected images for portfolio, website, social media, or promotional purposes unless the client requests otherwise in writing before the session.
9. REFUNDS
• All purchases are final. No refunds are given for digital files, prints, or products once delivered.
10. USAGE RIGHTS
• Images may be used for personal use only. • Any commercial, editorial, advertising, or publication use requires prior written permission from PJL Photography and appropriate credit where applicable (“PJL Photography”).
11. NUMBER OF DOGS
• Sessions include photography of up to two dogs from the same household. • A maximum of three dogs may be photographed in a single session, by prior arrangement only. • Additional dogs beyond the first two are charged at £20 per dog. • PJL Photography reserves the right to limit the number of dogs photographed in a session to ensure image quality, safety, and animal welfare.
12. RESHOOTS
• If you are unhappy with your images, a reshoot may be offered at 25% off the session fee, at the photographer’s discretion. • In the event of a technical fault (e.g. camera failure), a reshoot will be offered free of charge.
13. WEATHER & CO-OPERATION
• Sessions cancelled due to adverse weather will be rescheduled at no additional cost. • PJL Photography is not responsible if clients or pets fail to attend, cooperate, or behave safely during the session.
14. LIMIT OF LIABILITY
• Every effort is taken to safeguard your images. In the unlikely event that files are lost or damaged, liability is limited to a reshoot or refund of the session fee only. • If the photographer is unable to attend due to illness or injury, every effort will be made to reschedule or arrange an alternative. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
15. CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
• Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to an alternative date, subject to availability.
• The Client may reschedule their session provided notice is given at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
Rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the session start time may result in forfeiture of the session. A new session fee may be required to secure a future booking.
In cases of severe weather or genuine emergencies, discretion will be applied at the Photographer’s sole judgement.
16. CHILDREN
• Where children under 16 are photographed, the signing adult confirms they have full legal consent to do so.
17. ANIMAL WELFARE AND RESPONSIBILITY
• The owner remains fully responsible for their pet’s behaviour and welfare throughout the session. • The client confirms that their dog is suitably trained, socialised, and safe to be photographed in a public outdoor environment. • PJL Photography accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to pets, owners, or third parties. • If a pet becomes distressed, unsafe, or unwell, the photographer may pause or terminate the session for welfare or safety reasons.
• Clients confirm that their dog(s) comply with all applicable UK laws and local regulations, including any legal requirements relating to breed restrictions, leads, or muzzles, and accept that PJL Photography may pause or terminate a session immediately if safety or legal compliance is compromise

18. CREATIVE CONTROL
• PJL Photography retains full artistic discretion regarding posing, styling, shooting approach, and final image selection. • Special requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
19. DIGITAL IMAGE USE
• PJL Photography is not responsible for how digital images are used, stored, or reproduced once supplied. • The client confirms they have permission to include any pets or children not owned by them.
